On the 50th anniversary as a Jesuit in 1947, SFM constructed a museum to display Father Eugene Buechel’s collection of photographic negatives, prints, diaries and a large collection of native Sioux artifacts. Today the Buechel Memorial Lakota Museum’s collection is one of the most important historical and sociological records in the state.
